The Story Behind the Art

Forms was built around minimalism, recognizable characters, and a deep focus on the number three. Moving away from standard avatar collections, the goal was to strip pixel art down to its bare essentials and see just how much personality could be captured inside a tiny 20 by 20 frame. Working hand in hand with Jazz, all 333 pieces were drawn one by one, using only 400 pixels per piece to capture clean shapes, balanced colors, and instant recognition.

The entire drop revolves around the number three. There are 333 pieces split across 33 different categories, paying tribute to iconic subjects from gaming, anime, cartoons, movies, and internet culture. Some of the largest groups include Skellies, Pokémon, Cartoons & Animation, Anime & Manga, Movies, Memes, and Minecraft. Every piece is a distinct one-of-one, balancing stripped down visuals with technical precision on Bitcoin.

On-Chain Art and Inscribing

Each artwork is rendered directly on-chain at a native 20 by 20 pixel size, keeping file sizes lightweight while preserving true pixel art. Originally, the plan was to inscribe as fast as possible, but waiting a few extra days opened up a golden opportunity: Bitcoin block 963,369. The block number itself is a mathematical marvel built around the number three. It is a palindrome of 963 followed by its reverse (369), the first three digits step down by 3, and every single digit is divisible by 3. Across all six digit numbers from 100,000 to 999,999, only 48 palindromes exist where every digit is divisible by 3, and only 3 of those have the first three digits stepping cleanly in order like 963,369.

A script running to broadcast our transaction on block 963,368 to confirm on block 963,369.

Instead of spreading the mint across different blocks, the entire 333 piece collection was inscribed together in a single transaction in Bitcoin block 963,369. Because other image inscriptions were pushed to the following block due to higher network fees, Forms stood as the only image transaction confirmed inside block 963,369, cementing an exclusive block level footprint for the collection.

Block 963,369, with the only image transaction being Forms.

To match the theme, the transaction fee rate was set to exactly 3.33 sat/vB. Greg wrote custom inscription scripts so that every piece’s Form ID ends in “9882f333”, where “9882” stands for the parent inscription number, “f” stands for Forms, and “333” represents the total supply. Every piece also carries real value built right into the postage, holding either 333 Block 9 satoshis or 2 Uncommon satoshis directly inside each inscription.

The custom endings of our inscriptions and transaction ID.

One large UTXO with an uncommon and Block 9 order. Green represents uncommon sats, and the 333 sat ranges are Block 9.

The entire collection was inscribed directly under parent inscription #9882, which was then permanently burned. Burning parent #9882 makes it the first sub 10k parent inscription ever burned in Bitcoin history. Destroying the parent key guarantees on-chain that the collection is permanently sealed and mathematically impossible to dilute, as no future children can ever be minted under it.

What Makes It Special

The Number Three: Built around three from start to finish, featuring 333 pieces, 33 categories, a 3.33 sat/vB transaction fee, and minting inside block 963,369.
Block 963,369 Numerology: Confirmed in an impossibly rare mathematical block, a palindrome where every digit is divisible by 3, and the digits step in intervals of 3, making it one of only 3 such six-digit numbers in existence.
Sub 10k Burnt Parent: Inscribed under #9882 and then burned, standing as the first sub 10k burnt parent on Bitcoin and permanently locking the supply.
Custom Vanity Form IDs: Every single inscription has an on-chain Form ID ending in 9882f333, creating a unified technical signature across the entire release.
Single Block Mint: All 333 pieces were minted together in one transaction as the only image transaction in block 963,369, giving every artwork an identical block timestamp and shared on-chain history.
Hand Drawn 20x20 Designs: 333 one-of-one pixel pieces across 33 categories, created by hand without automated trait mixing.
