The Story Behind the Art
Pets marked the final mini collection and the last set of non-PFP assets created for Occulum. After the intensity of creating Lands, the goal was to craft something lighter, playful, and fun: loyal companions to inhabit the world alongside the other characters across the ecosystem. Partnering with Jazz, 13 distinct types of animals were brainstormed and brought to life as 172 completely unique one-of-one pieces.
This collection also introduced a brand new visual format for Occulum by featuring completely transparent backgrounds. Rather than locking each creature into a static scene, the transparent design gave collectors total creative freedom to use their pets however they wanted and layer them over any background of their choice.
What Makes It Special
- Transparent Backgrounds: The first mini collection in Occulum designed with transparent backdrops, letting holders seamlessly place their pets into custom scenes, artworks, or profile displays.
- Thirteen Unique Species: Encompasses 13 distinct animal types, ranging across dogs, cats, ducks, flamingos, frogs, and more, each carrying bespoke traits, costumes, and expressions.
- Permanently Sealed Lineage: Connected via on-chain parent-child provenance to parent inscription #84,580,423, which was inscribed on an Uncommon sat and permanently sent to Satoshi Nakamoto's wallet to ensure no additional pets can ever be inscribed.
- The Final Chapter: Serving as the ninth and final mini collection, Pets brings the two-year creative journey of Occulum to a complete and permanent close on Bitcoin.
