The Story Behind the Art
Leading up to Occulum’s second release, an opportunity came up to acquire some of the oldest circulating Block 9 satoshis ever discovered. Knowing how historically significant these coins were, the artwork needed to match that rarity. Rather than generating traits with an algorithm, Jazz individually hand crafted 100 unique one-of-one pixel robots from scratch. Built on complete creative trust between founder and artist.
To support early collectors, every holder of two or more Degens received a free Robot airdrop, while 46 pieces were sold to help cover creation costs.
What Makes It Special
- First Bitcoin in Circulation: Blocks 0 through 8 were mined and held by Satoshi Nakamoto, meaning Block 9 represents the very first Bitcoin ever put into public circulation when Satoshi sent 10 BTC to Hal Finney. Robots are permanently stamped onto the first 15 million satoshis (0.15 BTC) of that historic transfer.
- Historic On-Chain Record: These coins represent some of the earliest satoshis ever safely rediscovered and separated by sat hunters. Because of this, Robots briefly held the record as the oldest digital art ever inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain.
- Pure One of Ones: Every single robot has its own bespoke armor, colorway, and design, built without automated trait mixing so each piece stands as an authentic, standalone creation.
