The Story Behind the Art
Early in the Ordinals space, inscription numbers represented how early a piece of history was created on the blockchain. While official collections with sub 100k numbers were becoming out of reach for many collectors, a fascinating alternative emerged: standalone, unverified sub 100k inscriptions that belonged to no collection at all. These artworks were often available at a fraction of the cost simply because they lacked a project banner.
Fast forward over a year, the multi-collection vision for Occulum was taking shape. Low inscription numbers and historical cursed inscriptions could never be recreated, but by acquiring these abandoned, "homeless" artworks, they could be adopted and organized under Occulum. This gave life to Lost Punks, a curated series that permanently preserves early Bitcoin digital artifacts within a unified family.
What Makes It Special
- First to Adopt Early Inscriptions: Occulum was the first project to take unverified, low-numbered inscriptions created by random individuals and integrate them directly into an official collection structure.
- Historical Glitches (Cursed Inscriptions): Includes 10 rare cursed inscriptions with negative numbers, a historical anomaly resulting from early indexing software quirks that has since been patched and can never be minted again.
- Ultra Early Bitcoin History: Holds exposure to the earliest 0.03% of all inscriptions ever made on Bitcoin, capturing authentic blockchain relics that grow increasingly exclusive over time.
